I thank Mr Stuart Ablitt who greatly assisted in my absence during the first week to ensure a smooth transition back into school for our students and families. I was largely absent in the first week with COVID, which I am extremely disappointed with! Construction progress and updates

The Primary Playground has been severely delayed. The College and builder are desperate to see the wet weather disappear! Works on the upper floor of the Resource Centre will commence on Monday 5 February and M88 Online Live Casino is expected to take two months.

Our shade sail has been removed, and this impacts our assembly service. In the interim, we will still acknowledge student achievement through L.A.W.S. Awards and this will be carried out as a M88 Online Live Casino level approach during the school day.

It is important that students are aware of the expectations for using their device. Students have ongoing support throughout the day and can have any issue attended to, even during the teaching and learning time. This IT support will be available in the administration building under the direction of the learning environment teachers. Students understand fully the appropriate use of the device during the day. Only certain sites will be available for students as these sites will assist with the teaching and learning. Inappropriate use of IT will result in enacting our procedures which may mean blocking a student from the school system and asking them to pay a ‘return to the system’ fee. Further to this and very importantly, is to ensure their device is fully charged prior to the start of the day. If this does not happen, students will be charged a fee to borrow a power pack. Students this M88 Online Live Casino will also be encouraged to remain off their devices during the two breaks throughout the day and to ensure that other activities remain a focus instead.

Students are asked to leave their phones at home. However, if students need to bring their phones to the College, they must sign them in to Ms Nicole Schreurs in C Block upon arrival at the College. Students can collect their phones at the end of the day. If a student does not follow the procedure and is found with their phone in their possession or using their phone, the phone will be confiscated for the remainder of the school day and parents will receive a text or email to confirm that M88 Online Live Casino has occurred. Subsequently, further breaches of the mobile phone policy will result in a confiscation of five (5) school days. Uniforms

We are proud of our College uniform. Every student has a formal uniform and a sports uniform. The formal uniform (with hat) is worn every day except for the days the students have Health andPhysical Education (HPE) and Activities (Wednesday for all Secondary students). Students are also permitted to wear their sports uniform on days where they have a double HPE or Drama teaching and learning is timetabled. Students are exploring a wide range of text types and narrative worlds M88 Online Live Casino term;

• M88 Online Live Casino 7s are loving their first novel study of Louis Sachar’s ‘Holes’ under the tutelage of Mrs Melanie Clifton, Mrs Leah Stone, and Ms Timmins. They are focusing on dissecting the novel’s narrative elements in order to develop their own literary interpretations.
• M88 Online Live Casino 8s are being guided through their first poetry course by Ms Bianca Tyne and Mrs Stone. Students are learning how to interpret a range of poems in order to create their own.

Mrs Clifton and Ms Goyne are introducing students to various youth issues that are currently being discussed in the media in order to challenge them to consider their own positions on matters that affect them.

They have been introduced to the worlds of ‘Star Wars’, ‘Star Trek’, and other sci-fi classics like ‘Galaxy Quest’ in order to reflect on how sci-fi pop culture often mirrors or undermines social norms in order to make social commentary. This week, students became experts on a certain modern era and made presentations to the class about how the mood of their era was reflected in the sci-fi texts of the time. Students explained how the 1897 novel ‘The War of the Worlds’ was infused with commentary about the ethics of European imperialism.

For the last couple of years, Hills has had a dedicated STEM team with our intention being to promote interest in STEM-related subjects and careers. The most notable activities which run weekly include Maths Zone run by Mrs Rummins, and Makerspace by Mrs Hansell, while events like Science Week and Pi Day will be celebrated on their respective days.

This being said, the team has also planned for new activities to educate and promote STEM on a larger scale. In other words, try your best to see your challenges as an opportunity for growth rather than something to be afraid of, and stop comparing yourself to others!

Speaking of school community; we asked members of the Hills family for their favourite strategies for fostering emotional wellbeing, and here’s what they had to say: Mrs Lee-Perkins and Mrs Parer emphasised the importance of staying active, and spending time with loved ones. Uniform Update

2024 has seen an absolutely excellent display of student integrity and diligence with regard to uniform standards. We're proud of how well the M88 Online Live Casino are wearing their uniforms, and ensuring they are staying sun-safe in their hats while outside.

In order to help us ensure we are maintaining our high standard of presentation and safety, M88 Online Live Casino ensure that:

• Students wear the correct shoes. By the end of next week, the College will have completed the initial stages of the annual review process for its key policies and procedures. Welcome back to a vibrant and diverse Hills College community. M88 Online Live Casino term, we welcome international students from China, Japan, Thailand, Korea, and Hong Kong. These students join us for their primary andsecondary schooling, and we warmly welcome them to the Hills community.

We also have some visiting students here for Term 1. Honan High school is a Japanese school which sends a class for intensive English every M88 Online Live Casino. It is fantastic to welcome them back in 2024! We also have several visiting students and their families from Chinajoining us in both Primary and Secondary, coming for up to aterm to experience school life in Australia. They have settled in well, and are enjoying homestay and school life, despite the heat!

I was amazed to hear M88 Online Live Casino week of 2023 graduate Hanfei (Fiona) Feng's incredible ATAR result of 96.65. Fiona joined Hills Language College 2018, and worked hard to improve her Englishbefore joining mainstream.
